This, and most older MS (and many other developer/publishers) games uses SafeDisk copy protection (v20.70.030 with this game - on CD 2 only, which is probably the one used when launching the game). MS started blocking the driver used by this form of DRM when theyy released Win10, but MS couldn't be bothered including an honest error message with Win10, so this 'run as admin' pops up.
