I am trying to ballpark the value of a Husqvarna Vabenfabriks A.B. 30-06 US that I came by recently. The ornate monte carlo stock is deeply hand-carved with a deer cameo.

I have a hunch this was a later addition since none of the hundreds of photos of Huskies I’ve seen have had stocks like this. Having said that I understand value is modified. Nonetheless and most importantly I’d like to know its date of production. The serial number is 1830, not the typical 6-digit number I’ve been seeing. I’d appreciate any helpful information you can provide. Hello, I'm not sure what to tell you about the serial number but I did find a web site that listed these numbers for these guns. In Tacoma Wa., I was doing the same research that you are and got to that site by way of Google, wish I could remember the site name. Of all the Husqvarna info I have come across the general opinion of value has been between 200 for poor condition going to 400 for excellent. These values seem to revolve around what a collector would pay so I think the stock would ding that value a fair bit. Jan 21, 2011  I have recently inherited my Dads Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Nitro 30-06 and have a question about dates are serial numbers. The rifle is marked with two serial numbers one on the barrel and one on the bottom of the receiver, there is also an engraved 4 digit number on the bolt. Could this mean that the barrel is not the original?

Hello all, this is my first post, and there seems to be alot of knowledgable users here on the subject. I have a husky 30-06 rifle, i believe it to be a 1640. I read somewhere that the 1640 husqvarna says husky on it, mine does not, dont know if thats an automatic disqualification for it being a 1640. Serial number 1377XX It says nitro on the barrel, has the crown stamped on the receiver and on the butt plate. On the rifle it says husqvarna vapenfabriks. Has the wing safety or whatever its called ( going to have to remove that and have a sport safety for a scope,im assuming.

I would like to know the model, the year of its production, and where can i find mounting base for this? Thanks so much for the help! This thing is realy, really accurate. Hello and welcome to the forum. If you could post some photos that would be helpful, but just from your description we can narrow things down. Your rifle was made in 1952 and is either a Model 640 or a Model 1000 or 1100.

The wing safety was a feature of the Husqvarna rifles built using an FN Mauser 98 commercial action. The model 640 used the older type of FN action and the 1000/1100 had the newer type. The difference in the models will be from stock differences. On the 1640 series the safety was moved to the trigger and is a sliding type on the right side of the stock.
